It all began 18 years ago… I am the youngest and raised in a family which alhamdulillah has always been practising, and very much a part of the community (which in many ways is a good thing, but also a bad thing given the pain that comes with “fame.”) Having your parents as your role models as Islamic figures in your life is the best thing that can happen to any child, and my siblings and I were blessed with that. Many times we take our parents for granted, not realizing what they’re imparting to us is full of blessing. When you’re in such a family, you look inwards and realize your wrong doings are from yourself, and that on the day of Qiyamah who can you blame but yourself when you were raised upon the right path?

Elsewhere I’m usually known as Jawharah, which means jewel, and the reasoning behind the name was mainly cuz it sounded good, and well…it reminds me of the hadith:

…We asked, “From what is Paradise built?” He said, “Bricks of gold and silver and mortar of fragrant musk; its pebbles are pearls and rubies, and its soil is saffron. Whoever enters it is blessed with joy and will never be miserable; he will remain there forever and never die; his clothes will never wear out, and his youth will never fade away.”

[Mishkāt al-Masābīh, 3/89, no. 5630]

We chase after the jewels of this world, spending money on them which could have been better spent on the poor. Yet we so easily forget that we should be aiming higher, for the hereafter, where we can have such jewels as pebbles!

InshaAllah if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

May Allah make this effort a success and may He reward all those doing it sincerely for His sake. Ameen.
